The Hardest Love: A Call Back to Self ♥️
Self-love is the hardest love to give—yet the most important love of all.
Why?
Because we live in a world that teaches us to be everything but ourselves.
We're told to cover aging with AI filters, hide our greys with dye, erase our laugh lines with lifts, and chase validation through likes and labels.
Yoga has turned into a competition and meditation is sold as a luxury good.
And the value of a person is measured by what they drive, not how they love.
We’ve been conditioned to believe our worth lies in our productivity, our perfection, our performance, that compassion is weakness, wealth is power, and ego is the goal.
We cringe when we see someone on the street holding a “homeless, need help” sign.
We justify not making eye contact by thinking, “Why don’t they get a job at McDonald’s?” while silencing our empathy with fear and superiority.
It’s time to wake up. It’s time to return to the truth of who we are.
✨So, What Is Self-Love?
Self-love isn’t judging others to feel better about yourself. It’s honoring yourself—and others—through a lens of grace. It’s looking in the mirror and seeing your divine essence beneath the scars, struggles, and societal expectations. It’s knowing you’re f*&*ing amazing just because you are—not because you’ve earned it or proven it.
Self-love is a spiritual journey that lets you grow with your seasons, letting go of “what should be” and embracing “what is” releasing control and opening yourself to the unimaginable possibilities of a life lived in alignment.
✨So How Do We Get There?
Let’s make it simple because the journey is long and usually messy.
1. Set a Timer.
For the next 90 days, set an alarm every 2 hours while you're awake.
When it goes off, go to a mirror, look deep into your eyes and say:
“I love myself. All the changes and challenges I’ve faced have led me to this love.”
Yes, it might feel awkward at first. Keep going. I like to laugh at myself as if I am a child having fun to break the ice.
2. Check in With Your Circle.
Write down the people you interact with regularly and ask: Do they authentically support me?
If yes, beautiful—keep nurturing that energy.
If not, it’s time to get clear on your boundaries and hold them like your life depends on it—because it does.
3. Give Yourself Permission to Be YOU.
Yes, you. The real you.
The weird, crazy, wise, magical version of you.
Nobody else can be that. So why not rock it?
4. Create Self-Care Rituals.
What practices bring you back to yourself? Write them down.
Commit to at least one daily (10 minutes) and one weekly (2 hours).
Low-cost or free is perfect. No budget for a spa day, I got you. Draw a bath with Epsom salt, light a candle, and give yourself an Abhyanga (Ayurvedic self-massage) with oil. Let it be sacred.
5. Let Go.
The ultimate paradox: we can’t control anything—yet we try so hard.
Set your goals. Speak your intentions. Dream your dreams, then surrender the outcome.
Trust that what is meant for you will never miss you, as long as you stay aligned with your highest truth.
You Are the Love You've Been Looking For 💖
Self-love isn’t a destination—it’s a lifelong devotion that doesn’t require perfection, only presence and a willingness to return to yourself again, and again, and again.
